Application Support Engineer – London – Commodity Trading – Permanent – Hybrid Working
Cititec has partnered with a leading Commodity Trading firm looking for an Application Support Engineer. Your role will be to provide technical assistance and support to users of my client’s applications. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, ensuring smooth application operation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve support processes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users experiencing issues with applications, both remotely and in person.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot application-related problems, escalating complex issues to the appropriate teams when necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions to recurring issues, ensuring the continuous improvement of application performance.
- Collaborate with software developers and vendors to report and resolve bugs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality applications.
- Utilize technical skills in Azure, Python, and SQL to build solutions and automation that improve the overall application estate
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of proven experience in an application support role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex application issues.
- Proficiency in using ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Prior experience in commodities is a plus, but not essential for the right candidate.
