Business Analyst – Treasury Pricing | £750 per day (Inside IR35) | London | 6-Month Contract

A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced Business Analyst.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of financial product knowledge, hands-on business analysis expertise, and technical proficiency, working closely with stakeholders including Treasury, Front Office traders, developers, and product owners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements for Treasury systems, with a focus on pricing and risk related to Loan/Deposit products and Interest Rate Derivatives.
  • Work collaboratively with software engineers, product owners, solution architects, and stakeholders across global locations.
  • Maintain a well-defined and prioritised product backlog, including Epics, Features, and User Stories.
  • Support automation in Treasury’s balance sheet risk hedging process and enhancements to funds transfer pricing (FTP) performance.
  • Conduct unit, QA, and regression testing as part of the delivery cycle.
  • Produce solution designs, functional specifications, and high-level documentation.
  • Operate within an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in sprint planning, refinement sessions, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with the Scrum Master and technical leads to define and maintain the Definition of Ready and Definition of Done criteria.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of capital markets and investment banking.
  • Sound knowledge of financial products, particularly Loan/Deposit products and Interest Rate Derivatives.
  • Previous experience working with Treasury or Front Office trading teams.
  • Familiarity with Funds Transfer Pricing and Asset & Liability Management concepts is a plus.
  • Full business analysis lifecycle: from requirements gathering and solution design to backlog management.
  • Experience in creating and executing test plans, including unit, QA, and regression testing.
  • Proficient in SQL for querying and data analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data visualisation.
  • Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exposure to financial data formats (e.g., XML, JSON, FPML, FIX)is- desirable.
  • Experience working with Azure or other cloud platforms is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio is desirable.
