The Role
Our client is a leading commodities trading firm based out of the US which is now operating lgobally and across multiple asset classes. They are looking for a Quant Developer to help maintain and evolve their options pricing and volatility infrastructure. You’ll be working closely with their technology and trading teams to support existing models, as well as build multiple new tools and infrastructure as they continue to grow.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who’s technically sharp and eager to grow in a quant environment. You’ll be responsible for maintaining reliability across their quant systems and addressing day-to-day modelling needs.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of our in-house options pricing and volatility modelling infrastructure
- Build tools to support trading strategies across commodities and derivatives markets
- Collaborate with our senior quant and trading teams to scale out pricing libraries and risk models
- Design and implement clean, extensible code in Python to support analytics, simulations, and model improvements
- Help shape the future of our quant stack as we move beyond legacy codebases into a more modular and modern system
What We’re Looking For
- Strong quantitative foundation – degree in a technical field (Math, Engineering, Physics, CS, etc.)
- Solid working knowledge of options pricing and volatility modelling
- Commercial experience: experience in a quant team within commodities
- Proficiency in Python – capable of writing maintainable, production-ready code (not just scripts)
- Experience with building or supporting quantitative models in a trading or financial environment
- A builder’s mindset – motivated to improve, refactor, and extend systems rather than just maintain them
