Cititec Talent has partnered with a global commodity trading company who are seeking a Platform DevOps Engineer. This role involves supporting the design, development, and management of a sophisticated data and analytics platform on AWS. The platform will serve the data and analytics needs of front-office traders, research analysts, and data scientists, utilising the latest machine learning technologies and handling both structured and unstructured data.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and manage an advanced data and analytics platform on AWS.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using frameworks such as AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Ensure AWS architectural principles and best practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to deliver highly scalable, robust data and analytics products and services.
  • Manage incidents and resolve issues promptly.
  • Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
  • Create and manage Docker files and containers, including building and managing container images.
  • Work with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of multiple AWS accounts.
  • Provide support and maintenance for the platform, including writing automation scripts and Lambda functions in Python.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of AWS core components
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code using AWS CDK (preferred), Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Ability to code in Python for scripting and automation purposes.
  • Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of networking and security within AWS, including how on-prem networks connect to AWS.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, specifically using GitLab CI/CD.
  • Basic knowledge of configuration management using Ansible.
  • Experience with AWS, including architectural principles and best practices.
  • Multi-cloud experience is welcome, but candidates must have significant experience with AWS.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. A master’s degree is beneficial.
  • AWS certifications are a plus.
  • Familiarity with financial services (FS) is advantageous but not essential.
