Our client, a leading global commodity trading company, is seeking a hands-on Front Office Python Developer to sit directly on the trading desk, working alongside traders and logistics specialists to design and build tools that connect data, enhance visibility, and automate workflows across their supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Build internal systems and dashboards that provide traders with real-time insight into positions, inventory, and quality data.
• Connect and integrate multiple internal and third-party systems via APIs.
• Develop data pipelines and lightweight databases to manage operational and trading data.
• Create front-end dashboards for live analytics and reporting.
• Collaborate closely with trading and logistics teams to identify workflow challenges and translate them into technical solutions.
• Prototype, test, and iterate tools quickly in response to desk feedback.
• Support integration with existing systems (e.g. cost and inventory management platforms) and future TMS/documentation tools.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong Python development experience.
• Proven track record of building production-ready applications, dashboards, or automation tools.
• Experience working with APIs, data integration, and relational databases.
• Familiarity with key libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and dashboard frameworks (Flask, Plotly Dash, Streamlit, etc.).
• Ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Self-starter, comfortable working independently as the sole developer on the desk.

Desirable

• Experience with Power BI or other BI tools.
• Interest in commodities, markets, or financial trading.
