Cititec has partnered with a leading commodities trading firm, primarily focussed in energy markets. They are seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to join their Risk team to work on all market risk trading activities in power and gas. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a fast-paced trading environment, working directly with senior stakeholders and front-office teams on risk management across physical and financial gas markets, ensuring positions, PnL, and exposures are measured and reported accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse, model, and report market risk, P&L and trading positions
• Collaborate with traders to break down portfolio exposures and P&L drivers, translating complex risk concepts into clear insights.
• Take ownership of developing and maintaining reliable risk analytics, reporting tools, and digital dashboards.
• Ensure accurate trade capture and data integrity by validating pricing, curves, and reconciliation processes.
• Challenge trading assumptions constructively and communicate independent risk perspectives to management.
• Help refine valuation methodologies and risk models, contributing to stronger analytical capability and process improvements.
• Keep a close eye on internal trading limits and compliance with risk policies, maintaining robust operational discipline.

What We’re Looking For:

• Solid background in commodity trading risk, ideally across power and gas.
• Deep understanding of valuation techniques and risk metrics for gas products, physical assets, and related exposures.
• Confident working with FX positions and their impact on trading portfolios.
• Highly proficient in Excel and VBA, with Python or SQL skills seen as a major plus.
• Excellent communicator – able to explain technical concepts clearly across teams.
• Strong academic foundation in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computing, or a similar discipline.
