Back Office Software Engineer

A leading trading firm is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Back Office & Finance Feature Team, working on mission-critical regulatory systems. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team delivering solutions at the intersection of legacy stability and cloud-native innovation.

This is a hands-on full-stack engineering role, ideal for someone with solid .NET, SQL, and modern front-end experience who enjoys solving complex problems and working in an Agile, DevOps-first environment. You’ll contribute to the firm’s enterprise-wide cloud transformation while ensuring legacy systems continue to run smoothly.

What You’ll Do

Develop and maintain back-office and finance platforms supporting critical regulatory functions

Write clean, scalable code across the stack – C#, SQL, PL/SQL, React, REST APIs

Support the team’s cloud-first journey using Azure services, Git, CI/CD, and DevOps practices

Participate in architecture discussions and align with enterprise engineering standards

Contribute to the evolution of a microservices-based platform while maintaining core legacy components

Collaborate across teams in an Agile (Kanban) workflow to deliver on time and to spec

What You’ll Bring

3-6 years of hands-on development experience in a financial or trading environment

Strong skills in C#, SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g. React)

Working knowledge of Azure, Git, CI/CD pipelines, BDD, and microservice architectures

Experience with tools such as Jira, Docker, Kubernetes, Octopus, and Artifactory

Strong grasp of software development lifecycle and engineering best practices

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Experience in commodities is a plus, but not essential

Why Join?
This is a high-impact role in a firm where technology underpins trading success. You’ll build solutions that ensure compliance, performance, and resilience – all while helping shape the future-state platform in the cloud. If you enjoy solving technical puzzles and delivering elegant systems in high-stakes environments, we’d love to hear from you.
