About the Role
As our Head of Business Development, you’ll play a pivotal role in securing large-scale, high-value accounts with global organisations. This is a strategic position focused on identifying, pursuing, and converting global business opportunities that drive our revenue growth.
Your entrepreneurial mindset and expertise in managing complex sales processes will position us as the preferred recruitment partner for multinational clients. Collaborating closely with senior leadership and marketing, you’ll help shape and execute our business development strategies while building long-term, high-value relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts to secure high-value clients within the commodities trading and financial services industries.
- Proactively target and win new business through strategic planning, market mapping, and strong relationship-building with key decision-makers.
- Work closely with our directors to shape business development strategies, including market entry, regional focus, and routes to market.
- Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing business development team, creating a collaborative and results-focused environment.
- Set common goals with the marketing team to ensure all business development initiatives are aligned and integrated into a unified strategy.
- Regularly discuss client feedback and needs with marketing to refine sales outreach efforts.
- Host/participate in events to expand our presence and build valuable industry connections.
- Convert marketing-generated leads into opportunities through timely follow-up and ongoing relationship-building.
What We’re Looking For
- Extensive experience in the commodities trading or financial services sectors, with a proven track record of targeting and securing high-value multinational accounts that drive significant revenue growth.
- Consistently exceeds revenue and business development targets, thriving under pressure and in dynamic markets.
- Skilled in managing the full sales cycle, from identifying opportunities to closing deals with global organisations.
- Passionate about winning new clients, networking, and building meaningful, long-term relationships.
- Confident in engaging with clients face-to-face, delivering tailored solutions, and negotiating complex agreements.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to influence and win over key decision-makers.
- Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and focused on achieving sustainable growth.
- Collaborative mindset, able to work well with marketing and internal teams to develop targeted campaigns and impactful thought leadership initiatives.
