Our client, is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist to join their Technology team on a 12-month contract based in London.
This role sits within the Platform Operations team, where you will provide technical expertise and operational support across a diverse range of infrastructure platforms and services.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the security, availability, and efficiency of core infrastructure services, enabling the business to operate effectively and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.
What you’ll do:
- Ensure the security, availability, and integrity of core infrastructure services across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Provide operational support and maintenance for on-premises and Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Take proactive ownership of IT infrastructure operations, support, and project-related activities.
- Monitor and manage infrastructure-related tickets, requests, and technical escalations.
- Participate in the on-call rota (approximately one week per month; weekdays, 07:30 to 18:00).
- Support regular operational activities such as disaster recovery tests and perform out-of-hours work when required.
- Optimise, monitor, maintain, and improve infrastructure services, ensuring they remain efficient, reliable, and secure in line with industry best practices.
- Coordinate activities related to infrastructure operations, such as upgrades, maintenance, and other business-as-usual (BAU) tasks.
- Proven hands-on experience in infrastructure operations and support engineering.
- Expertise in managing enterprise Windows platforms.
- Proficiency in maintaining and creating documentation, including processes, procedures, and user guides.

Technical experience in the following areas:
- Windows Server Administration (2012/2016/2019/2022)
- Cloud Platforms (Azure preferred)
- Hyperconverged Hosting Platforms (e.g., Nutanix)
- VMware System Administration
- Backup and Recovery Tools (e.g., CommVault, Azure Backup, Recovery Manager for AD)
- Configuration Management Tools (e.g., SCCM, Group Policy)
- Scripting (PowerShell)
