Java Database Developer – Reputable Financial Firm

Duration: 12-month contract

Rate: £350 – £408 per day/PAY

Location: Hybrid in Glasgow (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)

Cititec Talent has partnered with a reputable financial institution seeking an experienced Java Database Developer to manage backend Java Spring Boot applications, focusing on access, account management, and APIs in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a bridge between global clients, development, and QA teams, ensuring smooth communication.
• Provide technical support and insights to maintain operational readiness and address issues promptly.
• Contribute to e-signature and workflow automation projects, leveraging APIs and digital tools to enhance efficiency and user experience.
• Collaborate to implement and maintain innovative solutions aligning with digital transformation goals.

Experience Required:

• 5+ Years as a Software Engineer, with demonstrated experience with Java, particularly in building backend applications, is essential.
• Skilled in using Java frameworks and architectures, especially Spring Boot, with strong knowledge of REST and SOAP API integrations.
• Experience with cloud platforms and skilled in tools such as ServiceNow, Application Lifecycle Management, JIRA, and Excel.
• Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies for software development life cycle management.
• Familiarity with messaging middleware like Kafka is beneficial.
