Our client, a global commodity trading company, is seeking a results-driven Functional Analyst to oversee the architecture of an in-house Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) system, focusing on their Metals, Minerals, and Bulk divisions.
You will lead a small team of architects, translating complex business needs into a cohesive architectural vision that guides the delivery of functional capabilities. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation to align the application landscape with both current and future business goals while supporting delivery teams in enhancing application performance.

What you’ll do:
Lead and mentor a small team of analysts, fostering professional growth and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
Coordinate architecture efforts across front, middle, and back office areas, prioritising the backlog in collaboration with product owners and technical leads.
Champion best practices and drive process improvements, working with senior stakeholders to deliver business value.
Develop and maintain the functional application architecture and conceptual data models, promoting an understanding of dependencies across the organisation.
Provide strategic recommendations on key architectural decisions, including build vs. buy options.
Balance strategic and tactical demands, providing clear functional roadmaps that guide the business and IT.
Support application delivery teams throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the overall architectural vision.
Collaborate with technical leads to align functional and technical architecture, ensuring that implementations meet business needs.
Stay updated on industry trends to inform architectural decisions.

Skills and Experience:
Significant experience in business analysis and/or architecture roles.
Experience leading teams in high-performance environments.
Strong knowledge of the commodity trading industry and end-to-end physical trade lifecycle.
Proven experience working in globally distributed teams on large-scale applications.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with business and IT leaders.
Experience with various CTRM systems (Aspect, Allegro, Endur)
