Our client, a global commodity trading company, is seeking a delivery-focused Functional Analyst to lead
the strategic vision for the Back Office functions across Oil, Metals, and Bulk products.
In this role, you will translate complex business initiatives into a cohesive architectural vision that guides
the delivery of functional capabilities. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to
enhance business operations, providing clarity on how the application landscape can support both current
and future state roadmaps while assisting delivery teams in improving their applications.

What you’ll do:

• Convert high-level business objectives into an architectural vision for execution by application delivery teams to achieve business outcomes.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance the functional application architecture and conceptual data models, ensuring a shared understanding of dependencies across the organisation.
• Provide strategic recommendations on architectural decisions, including build vs. buy options.
• Balance strategic and tactical needs, offering clear functional roadmaps to guide both Business and IT through current, interim, and target states.
• Support application delivery teams throughout the software development lifecycle, aligning detailed design work with the architectural vision and adapting as needed.
• Collaborate with technical leads to ensure alignment between functional and technical architecture, meeting business expectations.
• Build strong relationships with senior business stakeholders, understanding how IT solutions can best support their goals.
• Stay abreast of industry trends to inform strategic decisions and enhance business outcomes.
• Drive IT process improvements with senior stakeholders, leading initiatives that enhance business value delivery.

Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience in business analysis and/or architecture roles.
• Strong domain knowledge in the commodity trading industry, particularly in back office functions such as Settlements, Trade Finance, Corporate Funding, Treasury, and Accounting.
• Proven track record in globally distributed teams delivering large-scale applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with both senior business and IT leaders.
• Experience with Oracle.
