About the Role
Our client, a leading player in the energy trading space, is looking for a Quant Developer to join their Front Office technology team. This role will be embedded within their Trading division, working closely with Traders, Quants, and Analysts to build and optimise the pricing and risk tools that support commercial decision-making.
This is a highly impactful position where you’ll contribute to the architecture and evolution of modern, scalable systems built on a Python tech stack. The role offers the chance to work on real-time, high-performance applications that directly influence trading outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop core pricing and risk tools used across the trading desks
- Collaborate with traders, analysts, and quants to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Modernise and optimise legacy applications and infrastructure
- Improve the architecture of internal tools with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Take ownership of quant libraries and analytics platforms
- Ensure robustness, testability, and high performance across tooling
- Keep up with evolving technologies and market trends to inform development strategies
What They’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in software development within a quantitative or trading environment
- Proficiency in Python, with strong engineering practices (e.g., testing, CI/CD, code reviews)
- Understanding of quantitative modelling, pricing, and risk management concepts
- Experience in improving and scaling complex infrastructure and systems
- Academic background in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or another quantitative field
- Familiarity with large-scale, data-heavy, and time-sensitive environments
Experience working in agile, collaborative teams with stakeholders across the business
