Reporting to the Global Head of Security & Business Resilience, the Regional Security Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive security management programme for a leading global commodity trading company’s operations in Africa. This role requires a deep understanding of physical security, risk management, and business resilience.
What you’ll do:
- Threat and Risk Assessment: Conduct threat and risk assessments for the company’s operations in Africa.
- Security Planning: Develop and implement regional security plans, including transportation, supply chain, and B2B/B2C petrochemical business.
- Incident Response: Respond to and support crisis/incident/emergencies, including investigations and loss prevention strategies.
- Intelligence: Collect and analyse regional intelligence to identify and mitigate threats and risks.
- Contractor and Control Assessment: Assess contractor and control performance and propose improvements based on threat and risk assessments.
- Education and Training: Foster a security culture by educating and raising awareness across the region.
- Collaboration: Establish cross-company/divisional collaboration to optimise security resources.
- Networking: Develop and maintain a regional network of internal stakeholders, external partners, law enforcement, and security providers.
- Facilities Support: Consult on physical security systems and processes for facilities.
- Travel Security: Provide travel security advice, monitoring, and management.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in a corporate security department.
- Understanding of security risk management within global organisations.
- Recognised degree in business/resilience/risk management/ASIS CPP.
- Experience with travel security risks and advice.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and operate effectively in uncertain environments.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Travel Requirements
- Frequent travel within Africa is required to perform risk assessments, interact with colleagues and vendors, and follow up on projects.
