Artificial Intelligence Engineer

AI Engineer – Hybrid (London-based, 3 days onsite – flexible) – up to £700/day (Outside IR35)

We’re supporting a major transformation programme for a financial services firm, focused on an enterprise-wide data migration from Oracle to Azure. This is a multi-year initiative to build a modern data platform leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Cosmos DB, and Azure Data Factory – with a strong focus on integrating Agentic AI to accelerate the SDLC and data migration processes.

You’ll join a large engineering function working at the cutting edge of AI-enabled development. The focus is on embedding AI agents and agentic workflows into engineering teams to improve productivity, automation, and delivery speed.

This role is ideal for someone transitioning from a data/software engineering background into AI engineering, with hands-on experience deploying AI capabilities in production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement Agentic AI solutions to enhance SDLC and data migration
• Deploy and manage AI agents across engineering teams
• Work closely with developers to integrate AI-driven workflows
• Contribute to Azure-based data platform build (Fabric, Cosmos, Data Factory)
• Help define best practices for AI-enabled engineering at scale

Required Experience

• Python engineering background
• Experience with Azure AI / AI Foundry
• Hands-on use of Claude or Copilot in production environments
• Proven experience implementing MCP servers
• Background in data engineering or software engineering
• Experience with Microsoft stack:
• Fabric
• Cosmos DB
• Azure Data Factory
