Project Manager – Energy Trading – up to £130k base + bonus – London
I’ve partnered with an energy trading firm that’s expanding its technology team and is looking for a Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a new trading system implementation across physical and financial markets.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the full delivery lifecycle for a large-scale trading system rollout, acting as the bridge between Front to Back Office teams. This is a hands-on, front-office-facing role where you’ll drive momentum, manage senior stakeholders, and ensure the platform is delivered safely, compliantly, and on time.
What You’ll Do
- Lead delivery of a new trading system across physical and financial markets
- Build and manage integrated delivery plans, milestones, and dependencies
- Coordinate FO, Tech, Risk, Ops, Compliance, and Regulatory stakeholders
- Identify risks early and proactively drive solutions
- Maintain alignment, governance, and delivery pace in a high-pressure environment
- Ensure systems, controls, reporting, and operational processes are fully ready for go-live
Experience Required
- Experience in energy or commodities trading (energy preferred)
- Exposure to both physical and financial trading
- Understanding of FO trading workflows, risk & PnL drivers, and operational/regulatory controls
- Experience delivering large-scale system implementations
- Experience partnering with ETRM and trading technology teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
