Senior LNG Business Analyst | £1100 per day (Inside IR35) | 6-Month Contract

Our client, an established energy trading company, is seeking a Senior LNG Business Analyst to join a global trading function supporting LNG operations.

You will work closely with LNG traders and business stakeholders to develop and enhance a bespoke LNG trading and shipping operations system, contributing to system improvements, process optimisation, and ongoing application support within an Agile delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of functional change from initial problem definition through to implementation in systems or business processes.
• Work closely with business users to gather requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications and user stories.
• Support the development and enhancement of a bespoke LNG trading and operations platform.
• Own and execute testing processes, ensuring sufficient manual and automated test coverage.
• Ensure solutions are delivered to a high standard, are fit-for-purpose, and can be effectively supported.
• Provide day-to-day application support, including issue investigation and resolution.
• Collaborate with developers, traders, and stakeholders to deliver continuous improvements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business and technical teams.

Required Skills

• Experience in energy commodity trading, with LNG exposure.
• Strong knowledge of ETRM systems such as Endur and/or EOS.
• Proven experience delivering IT change, system enhancements, or integration projects within a trading environment.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in functional testing and quality assurance processes.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working on LNG trading or shipping systems.
• Exposure to process improvement, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Understanding of trading lifecycle, risk management, and optimisation.
• Experience supporting bespoke trading platforms.
