Overview:
A leading firm in the commodities and trading space, known for its innovative approach and dynamic work environment, is seeking an experienced Senior Pricing Developer for its front office team in Houston.
The role involves a blend of analytical prowess and business insight, focusing on the development, enhancement, and maintenance of sophisticated trading tools, market data services, and pricing infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an extensive commodities pricing processes and tools in Python, ensuring it meets the complex and dynamic needs of the trading team and aligns with market dynamics.
- Collaborate with BA’s, Support and develop and refine various pricing and models, ensuring they are efficient, accurate, and scalable.
- Facilitating the integration of high-performance financial models.
- Enhance existing trader tools with advanced functionalities, including sophisticated trader curves, charting, market data services and analytical features, to support decision-making processes.
- Lead initiatives to improve the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of tool services and API services, focusing on long-term sustainability and adaptability.
Qualifications:
- Strong preference for commodity pricing (oil, gas, power) or a background in capital markets.
- Proven expertise in Python, including experience with Fast API, Pandas DF, middleware, test frameworks and other relevant libraries.
- Deep understanding of capital markets, financial datasets, and commodities trading (desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing a pricing infrastructure.
- Business acumen, with a preference for financial products and market data knowledge.
- Good fundamentals in computer science, analytical skills, self-starter and a good team player.
